Birds of the Big Sky Country

Juried Art Show

Eligibility:

Open to residents of Montana.  Subject must be related to Montana Birds   

Oil, water media, drawings, pastels, photographs and small sculptures, jewelry, and metal pieces are  acceptable. All works must be original, no giclee prints or class room works.. Two-dimensional  

works cannot exceed  24” x 30”  Three-dimensional works cannot exceed  50# . 

Awards Recognition:

 

Cash Prizes Art:   1st Place - $500  

                         2nd Place - (2)  $300 each  

                         3rd Place -  (5)  $100 each

                                   

Cash Prizes Photography:  1st Place -  $300  

                                                  2nd Place -  $200   

                                                    3rd  Place - $100

Entries:

  The original piece will  be submitted for jurying Into the show.  Mark entries  #1, #2 etc.  correspond  with entry form.  Art pieces must have entry form attached to the back.  All art pieces and photographs must be for sale and a minimum  marked on the Entry Sheet. Entries will be juried into the show  by three members of the Billings arts community.

Judge: 

Entry Fee:

Mike Capser will award the cash prizes and ribbons.  Judges decision is final..

 

Fee is non-refundable:  $25 for first entry and $15 for an additional entry. Members of BAA and

or the Audubon Society of Montana can deduct $5 from double entries.

Sales:

A 15%  commission will be charged on all pieces sold. The commission  will be divided  between the BAA, Audubon Society and the Ryniker-Morrison Gallery for Education, Awareness and Support. A commission form will be sent to artists whose work have been accepted for exhibition.

Liability:

Artists are requested to carry their own insurance.  The Ryniker-Morrison Gallery is covered by      security and every precaution will be taken to insure the safety of your art.  However, the College cannot assume responsibility for loss or damage incurred during transport, installation, or display of artwork.

Shipping:

Work may be shipped or hand-delivered arriving at Rocky Mountain College

not later than May 1  Send ready to hang/exhibit works to:  Birds of the Big Sky Country: Rocky Mountain College,  1511 Poly Drive, Billings, Montana 59102-1796Art will be returned in original container via C.O.D.

Photography:  The BAA and Audubon Society reserves the right to photograph accepted entries for the    purposes of documentation, education, and publicity.

IMPORTANT DATES

May      1            Deadline for receipt of entries.  Completed entry form, and entry fee

            3 - 4      Juried into show

           6 - 7       Juried for Awards

May      15         Art placed in the Ryniker-Morrison Gallery

May      23         Reception for Artists and Public awards ceremonies at Rynicker  -  Morrison Gallery. 

June    4 - 6       State Audubon Gathering at Rocky Mountain College reception

June    7            Take down art work.

June    8 - 9       Repackage artwork and Return to sender.
